Shopping for Scrapbooking supplies

Wednesday I went to three stores looking for scrapbooking supplies for my Ancestry dot com Scrapbook.

Macro's Papers in Centerville, OH is mainly into card making, stamping and embellishment.  I was able to buy some archival paper for printing from my computer to add to the scrapbook.

Archiever's in Mason, OH is into scrapbooks, card making, stamping and embellishment.  I found several items to add to my Ancestry dot com Scrapbook.

I have decided to take up my calligraphy again so the third store was Hobby Lobby.  I got some embellishment stickers for "In Memoriam", "Emergency Medical Tech", and "Boy Scouts of America (R)".  I also replenished my ink supply.  All my inks and nib cleaners had dried out.  Since my plans for calligraphy are totally for Genealogy I will put anything about Calligraphy into this blog for now.

Have a blessed day.

Gedcom file and starting Ancestry dot Com Scrapbook

My software of choice is Brother's Keeper.  At one time I had paid for the full membership, but found it wasn't for me.

Today I downloaded BK to my new laptop.  Then I made a Gedcom file from Ancestry dot com and imported it into BK.

I printed off some of the reports I will need to start my scrapbook.

I also went to the DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution) site and printed some information about my 4th great grandfather who served.

Have a blessed day.

Thoughts after waking up this morning and still in bed.

For some reason the first thought in my mind was to collect all the information I can find about  my immediate ancestors on the Internet.  I will save pictures (from yearbooks, business and anything else), interviews, stories and any other media available.
After the purchase of scrapbook materials for genealogy I now know what I want to do with it.  The special papers for individuals will contain specific information and then generic card stock will be used to post the media from about.  I think this is a good starting point.
My main purchase was a genealogy scrapbook that was made by R & Company for Ancestry.com (R) several years ago.  It is no longer available through regular channels for scrapbooks.  I purchased it on EBay (R).  I have not checked Amazon.com (R) yet, but that will come when additional moneys are available for purchases.
Yesterday I pulled out my old calligraphy equipment.  The pens are fine, but only one ink and two pen refills are still usable.  Everything else had dried out.  Hello Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Joann's for calligraphy equipment.
Have a blessed day.
